This weekend my girl/boy twins turned 4 years old. Birthdays are generally for the people who were born but as a mother it is a celebration as well. We survived the early years of long, tiring days and sleepless nights. Nursing until past their 2nd birthday and the general terror of two beings able to perform fatal acts. This weekend I celebrated the hard work of mothering and treated myself to reflecting on all our accomplishments and struggles over the years. We have all come so far in the past 4 years. I encourage all moms to celebrate their role in the birth of their children. Whether biological or adopted mothers play a key role in a child’s living in this life. Moms deserve a little recognition for the hard work that they do.
The 4’s have also brought a new stage of development for the kids, Opposition. You know that stage. The one where every time you say something, they do the exact opposite. My sweet, loving, cooperative daughter has turned into Little Miss NO. I love that she is finding her independence and learning to speak up for herself. I wish she could do it a bit less defiantly. Either way I love them both and look forward to the new changes in the year to come.
- Another year to watch my children grow and develop.
- Celebrating our lives together and the joy of participating in a family.
- Being able to have and raise healthy children I believe will one day make the world a better place.
- Living consciously and learning to communicate openly with compassion.
- Love.
What are you grateful for today?
