21-Day Weight Loss Challenge for Bloggers

I have doing the 21-Day Weight Loss Chal­lenge for blog­gers.  I am doing it for fit­ness as much for weight loss.  I won’t be track­ing weight but mea­sure­ments through­out the chal­lenge.  This event is a com­plete pro­gram designed by Dustin Maher, author of Fit Moms for Life. Even though I have a strong back­ground in health and well­ness, I have plateaued over the last few months and really wanted to push myself to meet my goals for the New Year.

I am tak­ing mea­sure­ments, and pre­pared all the records so I can keep track of my progress. Dustin’s work­out plans are intense and really get the heart pump­ing even when just doing the strength train­ing. I am going to approach it a lit­tle dif­fer­ently this time in an effort to tar­get dif­fer­ent mus­cle groups each day to max­i­mize my points.  All the blog­gers par­tic­i­pat­ing are earn­ing points for dif­fer­ent tar­gets each day.  Such as eat­ing veg­eta­bles, get­ting enough pro­tein and doing the work­outs everyday.

The big change in my food has been elim­i­nat­ing white flour, white sugar, white rice, and pota­toes. Basi­cally all the processed foods are out. Each day I will post the progress from the pre­vi­ous day with my menus from the day.

The best part of all of this is my love affair with water has been rekin­dled. Before this chal­lenge I would remem­ber, usu­ally too late, to start get­ting my daily water. It was becom­ing a bit of a strug­gle. Prior to the black hole of sleep depri­va­tion that comes from rais­ing twins, I was drink­ing upwards of 100 ounces of water a day. I am back to that level or higher now. It feels won­der­ful. My secret trick: I drink at least 2 cups of water before I even leave the bed­room.  This jump starts my thirst and keeps me want­ing water all day long.

Arms 12″

Chest 41″

Waist 34.5″

Belly 36″

Butt 40″

Thigh 23″

Calf 15″
