This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Spartan Race for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

We are well into 2012 and I am still firmly committed to my goal of improving my fitness and getting back into shape. I have been looking for a 5K race to participate in this summer as a way to challenge myself. I found this great event I have to share with you. It looks really tough but I think it might just be the incentive I need to push myself to the next level.
Spartan Race is like nothing I have ever seen before. It is not just a race. Built into it is an insane obstacle course to really test endurance. Usually I give up on my fitness goals because of the monotony of the same thing over and over. This event looks different.
Spartan Race is designed to push your boundaries and get you out of your comfort zone. It challenges you to get on the trail, jump in the mud and have the endurance of a Spartan Warrior.
The event is ideal for everyone in the family. There are hardcore obstacle courses for the athlete as well as events for the beginner, kids and even Spartan Chicked for the moms.
With events happening all over the United States, you can find a race near you. All Spartan Races will culminate in a championship race at the end of this year.
Most important for me is every participant receives the support of the Spartan Race. 99.9% of participants will finish this event.
Spartan Race also provides its participants with a daily workout, a weekly newsletter, and inspiring blogs that will help them get from the couch to the finish line within 45 days. It really is as simple as signing up, showing up, and never ever giving up.
It’s easy to give up and hang out on the couch eating bon-bons. This year I am going to take it to the next level. I think I have found just the challenge I have been looking for. Whose with me? Find a Spartan Race near you and join me for this ultimate challenge. For frequently asked questions and answers check out: http://www.spartanrace.com//spartan-race-obstacle-course-faq.html
What are you doing to push yourself to make 2012 the best year ever?

Never heard of this before, thanks for sharing
I’ve been training for a couple obstacle races this summer. Tough Mudder, Spartan Race and Warrior Dash, along with a few normal runs. Doing fitness bootcamp and trail running mostly, along with lifting weights.
Really is a great way to get in shape.
You are full of great advise friend
